 Works:

Edith`s artistic practice started with drawing. The line has always been the structure around which the poetics of her work has developed. On account of this interest Edith could engage in other activities such as illustrations, graphic works and the production of theoretical and didactic works on drawings.

Edith`s research lead to sculptural forms, abandoning the more traditional concept about drawing. She started using other materials and supports such as tissue, plastic, Japanese paper. Sewing became a foundation for the constitution of the poetics in her work, a procedure that still resounds in her more recent production, even while using other materials as paper, carbon, metal sheets, wood sheet, bookmaking, video and photograph.

Since 1997 Edith have been producing installations related to the constitution of spatial situations, always using black cotton line as a constructive element. The architectural space begins to become a constituent in the creation of her work, approaching some contemporary researches attaching drawing to the idea of site-specific and also to sculpture. These works were always followed by production in other supports such as engraving, photograph, small sculptures, objects and books.
